Transition Year Trip to Delphi

Transition Year students went to Delphi Adventure Centre for three days on the 29th of September. This annual trip was greatly anticipated by the group as it was the first class outing since returning to school. The trip depended greatly on the weather, and we were not disappointed! Upon arrival, we were split into groups of eight, and brought to our first activity, for some this was kayaking and others surfing at Cross strand outside Louisburgh. This brought us into the evening, in which we had dinner back at the centre, and then a Night-walk. Plenty returned from the walk covered head to toe in bog, so showers were a must, followed by supper at the Centre. An early start on Thursday brought us back outside to enjoy team-activities, rope climbing, abseiling, zip-wire, and a climbing wall which was a challenge to say the least! Thursday evening’s dinner was followed by a Bog walk, and as you can imagine, that resulted in very long queues for the showers upon returning to the Centre! Friday was a struggle for some, two days activities and two sleepless nights did not help! Some groups were brought pier jumping, and others canoeing. This was a great way to finish off the trip, as well as kicking off the Transition Year.
