Soccer

Davitt College currently field 4 teams for soccer both male and female. The boys U-14 team beat Athenry 4-2 in a convincing first round game. They are currently in the group stages.
The boys U-16 team are through to the Connacht quarter finals after victories over Colaiste Iognaid of Galway, Marist College Athlone and St.Mary’s of Ballisadare.
The girls were less fortunate and were narrowly beaten in their two opening league games.
We also take part in an annual girl’s u-16 and senior girl’s soccer tournament run by the VEC sports committee. Davitt College recently won the boys and girls Mayo Futsol tournament and will now represent mayo in the Connaught finals next month.
